I am single and that is obviously and absolutely unfair and prejudiced. We were ALL born single. I think single people should get extra rights

It states that all men are created equal (doesn't say only if your straight) in the Constitution of these United States of America. Should the same rights apply to homosexuals that want to get married as straight couples? Sure it should. The problem that I have with what happened in California is this.....these people were given the right to get married (whether you agree or not) it is not right for those rights to be stripped away once that right has been given.





As far as the government goes they are getting involved in religious matters that they have no business in. It is also is going against the first amendment as well. Look if a ';gay'; couple can find a preacher/pastor/minister to the marry them then so be it.
Rights??? If my wife and I were to divorce we would get all kinds of Gov't benefits. We have 5 children so either one of could rack up lots of stuff. The only rights at issue that I am aware of is the ability to insure the other in a workplace group policy or similar situation. There is also retirement benefits, qualifying for Medicare and other Social Services.


So, what extra ';rights'; does a single person need?


Also, which of these rights should a gay couple of 20 years not get?



Each person should be treated equally by all laws.





Now why would such a simple truism need to be said? It ought to be altogether self-evident. It is the essence of freedom.

But you are absolutely right about getting government OUT of the marriage business.
That is exactly the same question that our Nation's Founding Fathers were asking when they put together the US Constitution... When they drafted the US Constitution it was to represent AMERICAN WHITE LAND OWNERS ONLY…!!! Not anybody else!!! So we are reinterpreting the US Constitution today to include everybody!!! Just like the Christians reinterpret the Bible to suit their whimsical agenda!





Christians still have the option in the New Testament era which is today to buy a suitable slave and do with him/her anything that their naughty heart desires with all of God's blessings like they did in Colonial America up to the 1860s!!! The only obstacle now are the secular government laws NOT THE WORD OF GOD! If you had a slave you can use him/her even for the kinkiest gay, bizarre or straight sex imaginable! In spite of any Biblical interpretation, there are plenty of arguments in the Bible to justify ANY KIND OF KINKY SEX OR FETISH especially with slaves!!! Believe it or not, pedophilia in all its extreme forms is CONDONED and totally unregulated in the Bible, Old and New Testaments nothing has changed because GOD NEVER CHANGES!!! If a man likes to have a little girl for a while for whatever pleasure HE DOESN’T NEED TO DATE HER! He can buy her as a slave from a set of Old Testament fashioned God fearing parents IN NEED OF MONEY, or even from a good New Testament Christian home!!! Sometimes you don’t even need to buy her. According to God the Son Jesus Christ the “laws” in the Bible especially in the New Testament are valid even today! The first criminals to be sentenced to death here in Christian America were witches!!! BTW… I am not taking ANYTHING out of any Biblical or historical CONTEXT here! It is the SECULAR world and common sense that is forcing Christianity to conform to current morality standards, not the way around! In due course, the validity of same sex marriages will be and it is now determined by the secular government, too! Someday soon, the Christian clergy will still have plenty of opportunities to regulate the morality of same sex couples. They won’t miss any opportunity to make money! Christianity is here to stay for a long time because some humans still need a “spiritual” crutch to function and the clergy is fully aware of it. Up to the 1860s the Holy Bible slavery was perfectly legal here in America, but now it is illegal…!!! COMMON SENSE PREVAILED OVER THE BIBLE TENETS…!!! Everything changes with time thanks to liberal non religious governments!!!





There is hardly a page in the Bible that is not full of some compromising positions that theologians need to reinterpret so the 21st Century Christians can use to believe in a a more reasonable fairytale God in the sky! If you are an honest human being in spite of your Christian background how can you possibly justify the Bible God’s immorality and his nearsightedness not to “prophesy” that someday his fond Biblical slavery fetish will be outlawed by the United Nations? There is not a whisper of hope in the Bible that slaves will be freed someday, but all the opposite! It says that outright Biblical slavery will continue on to the end of the world! The Bible writers never imagined in their primitive mind any form of democracy with liberty and freedom for all! Will religious gullibility ever end?
I'm not sure I get your comments about single people having rights..but I think its ridiculous to ask for rights that they never had...civil war and all...if we can't fight a war over it..lol its pointless right?
