If there are too many couples who want to adopt a baby why dont they adopt a baby from Africa?

Where there are thousands of babies that starve to death?

Do most people only want to adopt beautiful white babies?

Dont you find that hypocritical? If there are too many couples who want to adopt a baby why dont they adopt a baby from Africa?
I knew a white couple who adopted two black children years ago. They came in for a lot of criticism because black people said they should have been adopted by a black couple. I don't know what happened to the girls when they grew up, but it is entirely possible they resented their adoptive parents' ';condescension'; or otherwise felt they would have been better off with parents who looked more like them.

There's no right and wrong here: people are resentful no matter what you do. But personally, I feel it is a good idea for adopted kids to look at least a little like natural-born to the parents. That is, black kids could be adopted by a mixed black-and-white couple, or a black couple who have some white blood, but very dark (African) kids might be pretty uncomfortable introducing paleface parents. If there are too many couples who want to adopt a baby why dont they adopt a baby from Africa?
ALOT of american couples travel all over the world adopting children of not there ethinic back ground. There are many national adopting programs that help americans adopt from ther country..Watch the discovery programs. Yeah some whant a white baby that is there prefrence but that is a small portion. You also have families that adopt kids who are in foster homes who's own parents abused or neglected.
Mostly the cost of overseas adoption is quite prohibitive. Tens of thousands of dollars, and that is the starting fee for the inexpensive countries. And the paperwork is a nightmare, and then the requirements to retrieve the child (especially if the parent must go and pick him/her up). I don't believe for the majority that they are looking at race issues, but rather at the cost and hindrances established by governments.
No, I find that freedom of choice
This answer is simple. African children are BLACK. And I believe most WHITES would not want one.

I don't need to go into detail. We still have a long way to go on this issue. Personally to me people are people. Some good some bad. I would think that the religious right would be helping children of all nationalities, but I have yet to see this.

Remember the sermon on the mount?
I find that very ironic.

Most people that adopt seem to adopt Asian babies, unless I'm mistaken, they seem to be the babies of choice.

And as for the African babies, I would only appreciate people adopting them if they themselves were black. This is why IF i get married and IF i have kids I would want to adopt one from Africa or at the least an African American baby. I think they suffer too much for just being born Black in the world.
No, but they should think about their country first. My opinion only.
I find it hypocritical for you to ask this question as if you care and as if you're not prejudiced yourself, and in the same breath refer to white babies as if they're the only beautiful babies!

are you trying to say sarcastic?...your reference to white babies in exception still doesn't make any sense to me
You don`t `force` people to adopt what they do not want,do u?
Well those African babies would not be starving to death if the 'parents' were more responsible........let's see......If you can't feed yourself, you have NO business being pregnant!
