im currently in a long distance relationship and i find that communicating in some way most days helps, don't be afraid to talk about how you feel and realize that it's going to be very hard and take alot more work than most relationships.
being honest with your boyfriend/girlfriend helps alot too, as long as you are honest with each other you should have very few problems.

I think this is very difficult to do. Frequent communication helps...letters,phone calls, visits as much as possible.
